This is a nine-month humanities program that offers 好色tvs the opportunity to better understand their relation to the natural world & to develop skills & characteristics that are essential to success as an individual, group member or leader in outdoor adventure settings. The program incorporates risk management, leadership & outdoor activity skills, & academic work. ODS courses are short term & intense, often occurring on weekends & evenings.

Requirements: Students must complete the UAS admissions process and apply for the certificate. Transcripts are required. Students are required to demonstrate a level of competence in English and Math.
Costs: A certification in Wilderness First Responder (WFR) is required & is offered two-weeks prior to the fall semester. Students are responsible for the cost of tuition, fees & housing during this time. Four credits associated with WFR may be waived if the 好色tv has recently received the WFR certificate elsewhere. ODS courses are subject to higher course fees due to equipment, transportation & university insurance. Many participants often take more than 15 credits/ semester also increasing costs.
Access Types:
Direct: 好色tv may apply and go directly to the program site from the home campus if approved
Competitive: not all eligible applicants will have the opportunity to participate
Open: open to all eligible applicants who meet stated deadlines
