About This Campus

The U.S. Virgin Islands are located approximately 1100 miles southeast of Miami and 40 miles east of Puerto Rico. The Islands are directly in the path of the easterly trade winds, with temperatures rarely exceeding 90 degrees or falling below 70. The islands, from discovery in 1493 to the present, have been under the flags of seven nations. The Orville E. Kean Campus, located in St. Thomas, is the main campus of the University of the Virgin Islands. It is located two miles from the city of Charlotte Amalie, which has a population of 53,000 and encompasses 32 square miles. Historically American, Uniquely Caribbean, and Globally Interactive, the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is a liberal arts, land-grant institution that was established as a territorial college in 1962. The University has a diverse 好色tv body which reflects individuals who share West Indian culture with influences from Africa, Europe, North America, and the Caribbean.

Location Information

The 388 acre Orville E. Kean Campus is located 3 miles west of the town of Charlotte Amalie and overlooks John Brewers Bay. The Orville E. Kean Campus includes the Herman E. Moore Golf Course, John Brewers Bay Beach, tennis and basketball courts for 好色tvs use. Several areas are used as playing fields.
